Hi there! I’m Mimi, your certified Humanist Wedding Celebrant, proudly accredited by Humanist UK. I specialise in crafting and officiating non-religious, humanist wedding ceremonies in Ireland and Northern Ireland. And yes, I absolutely love the chance to travel to your dream location to make your ceremony a reality – passport at the ready!
If you’re on the hunt for a custom-written ceremony that truly reflects your love story, look no further. I’m your go-to person for creating and officiating a ceremony that’s as unique as your relationship. Your ceremony will be exclusive to you, celebrating your special bond in a way that makes you feel cherished and your guests feel like VIPs at the event of the year.
Every ceremony I design is tailor-made just for you. You get to choose the style that suits your preferences, including your own vows, words, readings, music, symbolic gestures, and traditional rituals. By connecting with you personally, I’ll understand your needs and guide you in creating the perfect ceremony that aligns with your vision – and maybe even throw in a joke or two!
And just so you know, Humanists UK celebrants like me are authorised to conduct legally recognised Humanist weddings in Northern Ireland. So, let’s make your big day unforgettable, with a sprinkle of humour and a whole lot of love!
A glimpse into who I am
I have an interesting background story. I escaped from East Germany just before the fall of the Wall in 1989. It was during my time in Germany that I had the pleasure of meeting my late husband, David. Together, we decided to start a new chapter in our lives and moved to Ireland in 1990.
Our family is a source of immense joy for me. We are blessed with two beautiful daughters, Christin and Zoe, as well as the most adorable grandchildren, Lucy and Jackson.
I have an insatiable love for travel, and some of my most cherished destinations include the breathtaking landscapes of Lanzarote, the sun-soaked beaches of Miami, the charming town of Lüneburg, and the vibrant cities of Hamburg and Berlin, where history and modernity intertwine.
I find joy in the kitchen cooking and tending to my garden. One of my passions is making my own preserves, such as chutney and jams. In fact, I once made over 100 chutney favours for a friend's wedding!
My childhood was filled with days spent on the tennis court. Playing the sport became a big part of my life, and I dedicated seven days a week to honing my skills.
Musical theatre has been a long-standing passion of mine, and I've been involved in the Irish Musical Theatre scene for over 30 years. Whether it's performing on stage or working behind the scenes, being a part of musical productions brings me immense joy.
Beyond that, I have a wide range of interests. They include a love for fast cars, a passion for football, and a fascination with Formula One.
In my professional life, I work as a freelance business consultant. My expertise lies in helping aspiring entrepreneurs set up manage and grow their businesses. Alongside this, I provide valuable mentoring and training services.
Additionally, I lend my skills as a freelance translator, facilitating effective communication across languages.
Lastly, I must mention our four-legged family members. Over the years, we have had the pleasure of sharing our lives with several furry companions. From Blue, a charming cocker spaniel, to Oakley, a mischievous Weimaraner, and now Lily, a delightful little white fluff ball, they have brought us immense happiness.
